Welcome to the IRB!
Welcome to the Columbia College Chicago Institutional Review Board (IRB) website. This site has been established to provide you with easy access to various IRB forms, guides, documents, and relevant research links.
The IRB is responsible for reviewing and approving all research with human and animal subjects conducted by faculty, staff, and students of the College, when conducted as part of their work or study at Columbia. In accordance with federal law and College policy, the IRB reviews proposed studies to ensure that the dignity, rights, safety, and well-being of all actual and potential research participants are protected. Students, faculty, and staff are asked to work in conjunction with the Board by following guidelines and using forms provided on this site. The Board will assist individuals and departments in navigating the IRB system by sharing and explaining our procedures and by processing proposals in as timely a fashion as ethically and legally possible. Investigators and departments are encouraged to contact the IRB office at 312-369-7384 with IRB related questions.
Note: IRB approval is required prior to starting research projects. All researchers are required to provide documentation of human subjects education. The CITI online training module is available from this page. Please include a copy of your CITI Certificate with your IRB application.
