Nick Jaffe, Chief Editor of TAJ, is a teaching artist, writer, musician, audio engineer and Illinois certified K-8 teacher. Nick has developed curriculum and taught children and adultsin a variety of fields including aircraft maintenance for a major airline, the sport of judo, and English as a Second Language. Nick has spent the last several years developing and teaching a digital audio production "recording curriculum" centered
on student-run recording studios he set up at several schools. He is currently working with Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education (CAPE) on an after-school program at North Kenwood Oakland Charter School and North Side College Preparatory High School (Chicago Public Schools). Nick is a graduate of Yale University where he received a BA in History. He is currently completing his Masters in Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University. He plays guitar and flute for the Chicago-based soul-funk band and production crew Soul People.
Eric Booth is the founding editor of Teaching Artist Journal. He is a faculty member atthe Julliard School, where he founded the Arts-in-Education Program, and an active consultant to arts and educational organizations across the country. He is an actor and the author of The Everyday Work of Art. Eric’s experience gives him a remarkably broad
and deep perspective on the fragmented field of arts education and the work of teaching artists. After more than three years as editor of Teaching Artist Journal, Eric has passed his responsibilities on to the Center and the journal’s new editor, Nick Jaffe, in order to pursue his writing, acting and consulting work.
