Hey Advisor!
Question: I heard you have to apply for graduation. I have 90 hours earned, should I apply for graduation now? How do I apply?
Sincerely,
Paul Konerko
Paul: The College Advising Center urges students to apply for graduation 1 year prior to their expected grauation date. For example, if you plan on graduating at the end of the Fall 07 semester, you should apply by the end of this semester (Fall 06). You can pick up and fill out your graduation application in the College Advising Center, Suite 300, 623 S. Wabash. For you procrastinators who are eligible to graduate this year, but have not yet applied, please do so immediately. The point is, applying one year prior is best for all involved. If you apply too early, it will result in a graduation audit that has too little information to be useful. Apply too late, and you may receive an unwanted surprise in your audit and no time to do anything about it, i.e. you're deficient a required course that you were unanware of, and instead of graduating you are enrolled in summer school. As always, give your advisor a shout if you have any questions or need clarification.
