What Is A U-Pass?

A U-Pass is a deeply discounted transit farecard that offers ALL Full-Time students unlimited rides aboard all CTA buses and trains during the Fall and Spring semesters.  Full-Time students are charged through their tuition account the preset U-Pass Activity Fee.  This means that during the academic semester you virtually will not have to pay to use CTA public transportation.  As a matter of fact, you will pay for your U-Pass in less than 20 round-trip rides.  Just to put that into perspective, there are over 100 days in an academic semester and the current cash fare is $2.00 per ride, but as a U-Pass recipient - you only pay .70 per day!  Just seventy cents per day is all you pay - whether commuting to your job, entertainment venues, local attractions, galleries, shopping, night life, and sporting events before, during, or after class, 24/7 - your U-Pass has you covered.
