Crate Policy
To help the College reduce costs and go green, we are no longer providing cardboard boxes. We have reusable, stackable crates. They come four crates to every one dolly. You load each crate when it is on the dolly, one at a time. This helps Building Services move your items with ease, helping prevent any lost or damaged items during trasnfer.
- To request crates and dollies, you need to either let your department administrator know that you need them or fill out a 360 work order on your own. Once you have completed the 360, the policy along with the request form will be attached to the 360 work order for you to view, fill out and then upload back into the 360.
- Because these crates are in such a high demand, we can only allow any one request to have them for two weeks at a time. All crate requests are on a first come, first serve basis. If we do not have enough crates we will do our best to provide each request with what we do have available.
We require at least a one week notice on any one request. If we do not have the completed paperwork one week before your request date we may not be able to accomodate your request. - Due to the cost of the crates we will be monitoring the amount of crates and dollies we loan out for each request. Any shorted items will be charged back to the departments in the amount of $30 per crate and $60 per dolly.
- Any excessive wear or damage will also result in charges.
Any assistance with this should be directed to Sarah McGing at smcging@colum.edu.
