Brent Caburnay

Brent joined Columbia in 2009 with 10 years of experience in non-profit development. He was a manager with the Development Foundation of Resurrection Health Care, raising more than $3 million dollars in just over two years. He also directed membership programs and community development initiatives for the Lake View Citizens' Council on Chicago's North Side.

Brent was a dancer at the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, a principal dancer with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and in Dance For Life. He has served on volunteer and planning committees for the Center on Halsted, Chicago House, Forum Jazz Dance Theatre, Howard Brown Health Center, and the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, where he is a member of the Junior Board of Directors. The Windy City Times named Brent one of Chicago's top "30 Under 30" recognizing individuals for their outstanding contributions to the non-profit community.

A native of Chicago, Brent received graduated with honors from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.


Chandra M. Dennis

Chandra Dennis has recently rejoined Columbia College Chicago in her second tour of duty to help complete their "This is Columbia's Moment" campaign. Prior to rejoining Columbia, she was the Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Wiley College. Wiley College located in Marshall Texas has gained a national reputation with the release of the movie” The Great Debaters.” Prior to her appointment at Wiley College, she was the Director of Development for the School of Fine & Performing Arts at Columbia College Chicago. During her tenure at Columbia, she was responsible for managing a national portfolio of major donors and cultivating new relationships with stakeholders in preparation for Columbia’s first comprehensive capital campaign ever. Chandra is very active in the civic community and volunteers with small local not-for-profits and is a member of Blacks in Development (BID), Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and Council for Advancement and Support in Education (CASE) and National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE). Chandra is a proud alumna of Dillard University where she received a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish and has a Master’s in Public Administration specializing in Nonprofit Administration from the University of Memphis.

Francesca started with Columbia in a temporary position that became full-time in 2009. Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Francesca holds a B.A. in radio and television arts from the Ryerson University in Toronto. She received an Emmy Award nomination for her writing during her TV years in Nashville and has worked on Love Connection, Dick Clark, Hee Haw, and The Paula Poundstone Show. Francesca was in Chaplin, Blazeland, and I'll Do Anything, where she was choreographed in a tap number by Twyla Tharp).

She moved to Chicago and joined the corporate world with companies like Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen. She is active in Chicago theater as an actor, playwright, and manager of Stockyards Theatre Project, and is on the board for the League of Chicago Theatres. She was named "Funniest Person in Chicago" by WGN TV's morning show and is the author of four books.
