Fred C. Lowinger
Frederick C. Lowinger is Senior Counsel in the Chicago office of the global law firm of Sidley Austin LLP. He previously served as co-head of the firm’s M&A practice area, head of the Chicago office’s Corporate Group and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. His practice focuses principally on mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance.
Mr. Lowinger received a JD in 1980 from The University of Chicago Law School (cum laude) and a BS and MS in 1977 from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton School). He served as a clerk for Justice William J. Brennan, Jr. of the US Supreme Court and as a clerk on the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit. Mr. Lowinger is a certified public accountant.
Mr. Lowinger is a member of the ABA Corporate Laws Committee, the Planning Committee of the Tulane Corporate Law Institute, and the Executive Committee of Northwestern University’s Garrett Corporate and Securities Law Institute. Mr. Lowinger is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago Foundation.
Mr. Lowinger is married to Teri Lowinger, has three children (Lauren, Danny and Stephen) and lives in Winnetka, Illinois.
