Jackie Koo is the founding principal of Koo and Associates Ltd. in Chicago Illinois. She started the firm after working at large corporate practices for many years including Richard Meier and Partners in New York where she worked on the Getty Museum.
Jackie is best known for theWit, a 27 story hotel, at the corner of State and Lake Streets in Chicago which opened in May of 2009, but also works on a diverse portfolio from master-planning to public housing. She teaches in the College of Architecture of the Illinois Institute of Technology and is a Director on the Board of the Chicago Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Jackie was been recognized by Lodging Magazine as one of the “Leaders and Visionaries – Innovative minds for 2009” and by New Look hospitality design magazine as on the 10 leading voices in the hospitality design world.
Jackie received her undergraduate degree in Philosophy from the University of Chicago and her Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois of Chicago. Her business affiliations include the American Institute of Architects, the International Interior Design Association, the US Green Building Council and the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.
