President's Advisory Council

Mission Statement

Members of the President’s Advisory Council (PAC) serve as advisors to the President of Columbia College. The council is comprised of supporters and leaders in the arts, media, and entertainment industries, as well as business, civic, and philanthropic leaders who represent the cultural richness and diversity of the City of Chicago and the nation. Members of the PAC advocate and endorse the mission of Columbia College Chicago. They assist and advise on program priorities and plans related to the college when deemed necessary and appropriate by the president.

Membership signifies a commitment to help Columbia fulfill its mission: to provide a comprehensive educational opportunity in the arts, communications, and public information within a context of enlightened liberal education. Our vision is to be the model arts and media college that continues to place emphasis on innovation, economic, racial, cultural, and educational diversity, and a “hands on, minds on” approach to education. As advocates and advisors to the college, members spread the word about Columbia College Chicago and introduce the college and its leaders to centers of power and influence both locally and nationally.

Council members lend their names to Columbia College Chicago and serve as advocates for the college by communicating, whenever possible, the excitement and synergy of Columbia’s plans for the future.

Membership to the President’s Advisory Council is by invitation only.
