CALL FOR READERS!!

The Fiction Writing Department is calling for local Chicago writers, artists, students, faculty and staff to volunteer for the MARATHON READING of On The Road on November 5, 2008.  Volunteers will be asked to publicly read one section of the novel.  Interested? Contact Susan Babyk at sbabyk@colum.edu  to volunteer or suggest a friend!

CALL FOR CONTENT!!

A virtual space for events held in tandem with Columbia College Chicago’s and the Beats go on… will be held on the Interactive Arts & Media Department’s Second Life online region, I AM Columbia Island.  Patrick Lichty (Interactive Arts & Media) invites you to brainstorm ways to share content that will be hosted during during the Fall of 2008. 

What Can I Show?
Motion images
MP3 sound
Images of artwork
Descriptions of documents/books
Links to online media
Second Life Installations

What We Cannot Show:
Power Point presentations,  Adobe Acrobat files (PDFs), Microsoft Word Files (DOC), Flash files, and other document/presentation files.  All of these can be referenced as offline web links.

COPYRIGHT
All submissions must have the rights to present any and all materials shown in Second Life. 

Deadlines:
Materials should be submitted/events arranged by no later than Sept 10 to ensure integration in the Beat Cafe.  Contact Patrick Lichty at plichty@colum.edu
