In collaboration with the Chicago Humanities Festival, Columbia College Chicago’s Film and Video Department is hosting a visit from
David Amram, the accomplished American composer, conductor, musician and writer.  This brilliantly talented, 77-year-old musician defines "living legend" – he provided horn accompaniment to live readings by his friend Jack Kerouac in 1957…appeared in (and scored) Kerouac's Beat Generation film Pull My Daisy along with Allen Ginsberg, Gregory Corso, Peter Orlovsky, Alice Neel, and Larry Rivers in 1959…wrote soundtracks for such classic 60’s films as Splendor in the Grass and The Manchurian Candidate…and has since composed more than 100 orchestral and chamber works.

Joining multi-instrumentalist Amram and musicians for this special jazz performance is locally-based guitar virtuoso Fareed Haque. See one of the first concerts at the beautifully restored Morse Theatre, Chicago's newest live music venue!

For reservations, please call the Chicago Humanities ticket office at
312-494-9509 or visit here.  Please note there is a $5 processing fee for all tickets.
