Transcripts for all former and current students are issued upon receipt of a written request, signed by the student. E-mail and telephone requests are not accepted.
The Records Office does not fax transcripts.
Transcripts will not be released for students who have an outstanding financial obligation to the college. Contact the Student Financial Services toll-free information number, 1-866-705-0200, if you have questions regarding your account. Upon resolving any financial holds with Student Financial Services, please inform the Records Office at (312) 369-7224. Requests will be held for 90 days, after that time, please submit a new request. Transcript requests submitted through the National Student Clearinghouse will automatically be cancelled after 30 days if there is a financial hold or if the Clearinghouse does not receive the consent form (if required). The consent form can be signed electronically, which is the recommended way to process this form.
Transcript requests are processed in the order in which they are received. The normal processing time is 3 - 5 business days, however, during peak times and registration, this time period may be longer.
Official transcripts will be sent to the address indicated on the request. If so desired, they will be mailed directly to students in a sealed envelope. Transcripts mailed to students will be stamped "Issued to Student". Electronic transcripts will not have this notation.
The fee for an official transcript is $3.00 per copy. Next day service for paper transcripts is $10.00 per copy. For next day service, the request must be received by 4:00 p.m. The transcript will be produced in 24 hours, excluding requests submitted on Friday. Next day requests received on Friday will be ready on Monday.
Next day service means that the transcript will be available for pick-up or will be mailed the day after the request has been received. The Records Office cannot be responsible for the length of time the transcript is in the mail. Special mailing fees are listed below. There is no charge for an unofficial transcript. However, if next day service is requested for an unofficial copy, the fee is $10.00.
Official transcripts bear the signature of the Registrar and the school seal.
Your transcript is the record of your accepted transfer credit and your classes at Columbia College. This entire document will be sent. Partial transcripts are not issued.
Please indicate on your request if you attended Sherwood Music School or Columbia College's Continuing Education Program

Transcripts can be ordered in a variety of ways that are described below. Please use the National Student Clearinghouse ordering service or submit your order in person, by mail or fax.
- Online Self-Service Ordering Through the National Student Clearinghouse
The National Student Clearinghouse has been authorized to provide transcript ordering via the web. You can order your transcript using any major credit card. Your card will only be charged after your order is completed. he site will walk you through placing your order, including delivery options and fees. You can order as many transcripts as you like in a single session. A processing fee will be charged. Order updates will be e-mailed to you, and you can track your order online.If you have OASIS (Online Administrative Student Information System) access, login to the portal, select the Students tab, and click the Student Self-Service link in the Ordering Transcripts / Enrollment and Degree Verifications area in the right side of the page. Your Social Security Number must be on record in OASIS to use this service. - Ordering in Person, by Mail or Fax
Transcripts can be requested in person at the Records Office or in writing with the appropriate fee enclosed. You may send a letter or print the Transcript Request Form located further down on this page. The following information must be included in your letter:
- The name under which you attended Columbia College.
- Your dates of attendance.
- Your Social Security Number or OASIS student identification number.
- The complete address to which the transcript should be sent.
- The number of copies you are requesting.
- Your signature to authorize the release of the transcript.
- Inform us if you want the request held for end-of-semester grades, a grade change or a degree posting.
- The appropriate fee must be enclosed. Checks or Money Orders should be made out to Columbia College. Please write your Social Security Number or OASIS (student ID) number on the check or Money Order.
Payment can also be made on-line by credit card at https://web2.colum.edu/onlinepayment/
If you pay on-line with a credit card, print out a receipt and mail it with your transcript request or fax the request and receipt to (312) 369 -8073 or mail the request to:
