RECYCLING
BLUE Bins = Paper and Cardboard
GREEN Bins = Plastic, Aluminum, and Glass
PAPER SHREDDING
Place all shredded paper into clear plastic bags only.
We can supply bags. This makes for a cleaner office
and recycling pick-up.
DESKSIDE RECYCLING
Deskside recycling is part of our paper recycling program.
Do not contaminate with garbage or other recyclables.
Our maintenance staff collects these boxes nightly.
Make sure they are in sight or they will not be emptied.
Contact us to request your own box.
CARDBOARD
Break down all boxes. Remove all packing material
not recycleable, flatten box, and store in or near
recycling bins.
OFFICE MOVING OR CLEANING
If you are doing some office cleaning or if a person
is moving out, please inform us a few days in
advance for a pick-up. We cannot accomodate
requests the day of.
BATTERY RECYCLING
Recycle all types of used batteries in marked bins
located in the lobby of each main campus building.
TECHNOTRASH
Recycle digital media: DVDs, CDs, VHS, tapes, and
discs including cases and inserts inside specifically
marked grey recycling bins.
PRINT CARTRIDGES (1)
Save all Ink and Laser Jet print and toner cartridges
for recycling. Keep used cartridges in thier shipping
boxes. Mark boxes for recycling.
ELECTRONICS RECYCLING (2)
Columbia’s IT department helps recycle outdated or
broken computer equipment (including cables).
Contact them with details on your items and office
location for a pick-up.
Do Not Leave Outside in Hallways.
FILM STRIP RECYCLING (3)
Recycle used directing or photo camera film in
specifically marked grey recycling bins.
FLOURESCENT LIGHT BULBS
Due to the chemical content in flourescent light
bulbs, we need to dispose of them safely.
Contact us for pick-up, do not throw in the trash.
HAZARDOUS WASTE
Do not dispose of chemicals, paints, or solvents
down drains or sinks. We will collect and dispose of
them in an environmentally friendly manner.
