Registration and Orientation

The Orientation/Registration Program is designed to give you information on the academic degree requirements; meet faculty, advisors, and staff; hear from advanced students; and register for your classes! Orientation program dates are designated by the major you wish to study.

Orientation is your three-part Welcome To Columbia. It consists of Take Off, Connections, and Urban Fusion. Take Off and Connections are required of all new students. Urban Fusion is extended programming for new students, that takes place throughout the first semester. Orientation will prepare you for classes and for your new role as a Columbia Student!

We strongly recommend that all new students participate in Orientation/Registration which begins on January 9, 2006 and runs through January 13, 2006. However we understand that due to distance, many international students will find it difficult to travel to Chicago at that time. In this case, you will be able to participate in Late Orientation/Registration session on January 20, 2006. For more information about orientation, please contact the Office of New student Programs & Orientation at 312-344-8675 or orientation@colum.edu.

Please note: You must be officially admitted to Columbia before you can participate in New Student Orientation. If you have not been admitted, please e-mail Peyton Caruthers at the Office of International Undergraduate Admissions.
