We're Coming to You

General Tours

We are pleased to offer general tours of our campus and facilities for prospective students, guests, and college search advocates. These walking tours take place Monday through Friday and select Saturdays, and are customized to the interests of those on them. All tours are led by current Columbia students and include the opportunity to meet and speak in person with members of our Admissions Office staff. Please check dates and availability of tours below.

Tour Times

Booking

Please be advised that our tours are walking intensive. Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for brisk walking.

Film and Video; Television; Interactive Arts and Media; and Dance students are encouraged to schedule their tours on Mondays and Fridays. Tours on these days include Columbia’s Media Production Center (an award-winning building hosting studios and academic environments for Film, Television, and IAM students) as well as The Dance Center.

Note: The Media Production Center will be closed June 7th and July 22nd.

If you’re joining us for Manifest on May 17th and would like a tour, you don’t need an appointment! Just drop by the Tour Center (1st floor of 600 S. Michigan Ave.) and we’ll be happy to answer your questions and show you around.

Monday through Friday at 10:30am and 1:30pm, and Saturdays at 11am

Tours will not be offered on the following dates:

5/18, 5/27, 5/30, 6/6, 7/4, and 7/5.

Group Tours

High schools, community colleges, and other organizations who are interested in bringing groups of 10 or more people on a tour of Columbia must contact Havalah Backus at hbackus@colum.edu to schedule their visit. Please keep in mind that group tours are intended for students who are sophomore level and up, and that the maximum allowable group size is 30 students, plus chaperones.

Along with the general tours above, Columbia College Chicago separately offers department tours for Audio, Film and Video, and Television.
