ASL - English Interpretation Courses


Introduction to American Sign Language
37-0171-41 Tuesday & Thursday, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM; 2 credits

This course concentrates on the development of conversational fluency in American Sign Language (ASL). Students will learn to accurately recognize and produce signs in ASL with appropriate non-manual markers and other grammatical features. A basic introduction to ASL, this course focuses on conversational strategies, basic rules of grammar and cultural norms.
