Marketing Goes to the Movies

The shapes and colors of Advertising, the whirr and spin of Public Relations, and the savvy strategies of Marketing have excited the imagination of writers and filmmakers for over 100 years. In this survey course, students get a whirlwind history of our marketing communication culture by watching popular movies with marketing themes… then they sharpen their college writing skills through group discussion and writing “entertainment columns” for an on-line ‘zine.
Sports Public Relations

The course covers various forms of public relations to be implemented in a professional career in sports communications. The course focuses on the preparation and distribution of communications materials pertaining to sports events, individuals and contests. In addition, students will learn how to deal with the media in a variety of roles, including, but not limited to, working in a collage or professional sport setting.
