And thank you, for laying the groundwork for the first comprehensive campaign in the college’s history, the Campaign for Columbia. This $20-million initiative will expand our scholarship program, providing opportunity to more deserving students. It will support faculty development and help endow our research and performance centers, which continually expand scholarship and understanding of our contemporary culture. And it will fund construction of the college’s first original building, a state-of-the-art Media Production Center that will help prepare students to work at the forefront of new media technologies.

The Campaign for Columbia will encourage private gifts that will directly benefit our students’ experiences as learners, artists, and contributors to our culture.
