“I think Columbia’s more artsy side will help me stand out from the other computer science people. My dream job would be working for Valve or Blizzard, one of those amazing game companies where I can create something amazing and everyone can love it.”

—Mike MacDermaid

Spend some time talking with Columbia students and you’ll learn what shapes their vision of their future: Passion. Creativity. Dreams. These students all have big dreams, and as recipients of prestigious David R. Rubin Trustees’ Scholarships, they’re working to make them realities. Braulio will be a screenwriter. Seth will be a designer focusing on identity systems. Matt will be a Photographer and Professor, both with a capital P. Janeal will host her own radio talk show. And Mike will design amazing games. They know the best way to live their dreams is through hard work. And passion and creativity don’t hurt, either.
