Columbia offers more than 120 academic programs, making it the most comprehensive source of academic study among arts and media colleges nationwide. Dollars go toward attracting top-level faculty and developing curricula to match as well as maintaining outstanding facilities and services for students.
Total Long-Term Investments
Columbia recently purchased the historic Johnson Publishing headquarters building at 820 S. Michigan Ave. for the future site of the college’s ever-expanding library.

Columbia owns more than 20 buildings in the South Loop, including the Media Production Center, a 35,500-square-foot, state-of-the-art learning space outfitted with film production sound-stages, a motion-capture studio, digital labs, animating suites, and a fabrication shop.

Scholarships for students are a college priority, and they increase retention. The 2010 fall-to-spring retention rate of the students who were awarded institutional scholarships was 91%.
