Teaching Opportunities

If you are interested in teaching for the Columbia Center for Book and Paper Arts, please send a resume with relevant experience, class proposal to the Director of Community Programs, Anita Garza along with a completed form (Download here). Once your proposal is accepted, we will contact you to arrange days and times for the class. Proposals are accepted based on class demand and rotation, relevancy and the Center's mission of furthering knowledge and appreciation of the book arts.  

Instructors are paid 45% of the tuition the class draws, not including materials fees. Instructors also work directly with the Studio Coordinator to discuss and arrange supplies for the class. The fee is based on the discretion of the studio coordinator, based on supply availability, cost and duration of the class per student. Instructors are allowed to bring in their own resources, provided that they give us a detailed invoice or original receipts for the materials. A percentage of the materials fee is appropriated to defraying the cost of studio maintenance i.e. blade sharpening, roller recasting, leveling and squaring up our cutters etc. The Center does not provide housing or transportation costs.
