Interested in the field of community arts?  Then check out these resources:

  • The Community Arts Network (CAN)-is a portal to the field of community arts, providing news, documentation, theoretical writing, communications, research and educational information.  Headquartered at its Website on the Internet, CAN is a program of Art in the Public Interest (API), a nonprofit organization based in North Carolina that provides information and resources in support of art that is culturally engaged and serving communities.
  • AREA Chicago: Art/Research/Education/Activism - is a publication and event series dedicated to researching, suppporting, and networking local social, political and cultural movements.
  • Partners for Livable Communities - is a national, nonprofit organization working to restore and renew our communities.  Partners has over twenty-five years of experience in solving commnity problems by providing information, leadership and guidance that help communities help themselves.
  • Center for the Study of Art and Community - is and association of creative leaders from business, government and the arts who have succeeded in building bridges between the arts and a wide range of community, public and private sector interests.
  • Cross Project for Art, Learning and Community - works with children, youth and adults throughout the United States to spread knowledge and build capacity regarding the use of the creative arts for learning and social change.
