I Want to Get Involved

Are you a teacher, student, artist, arts and media professional or community organization? Interested in making a difference in the lives of young people throughout the diverse communities of Chicago? The Center for Community Arts Partnerships’ arts-based college readiness program, ArtUP, offers many opportunities for involvement and we welcome your support.
Currently ArtUP is looking for the following:
- Columbia College Chicago students who are interested in gaining experience as a teaching artist and would like to work with youth are eligible to apply for a Teaching Artist fellowship position in the ArtUP Summer Intensive Pilot 2009.

- Columbia College Chicago alumni, and arts and media professionals who wish to share their personal stories of success. Please contact Joanna Barrios, Program Associate of School Partnerships, to see if you might be a good fit.
- Volunteer mentors who are interested in assisting with select ArtUP courses. As a volunteer mentor you’ll help participants through the college selection and application process, help with resume writing, interview skills or career searching. Please contact Joanna Barrios, Program Associate of School Partnerships, if you are interested.
- ArtUP is currently seeking a new major sponsor. If you or your company would like to support ArtUP’s important work of exposing Chicago teens to careers in the arts and helping them prepare for college, please contact Mecca Brooks, Associate Director of School Partnerships.
- We also welcome the following support from individuals and corporations:
- Tickets to teen-friendly events in Chicago.
- Gifts that will help students during their first year at college (i.e., gift cards, school or dorm supplies).
- Sponsorship of ArtUP Career Seminars
