TAD Studio FAQs
The TAD Studio pilot initiative launched in the fall 2011 and spring 2012. If you have questions that aren't captured below, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and our TAD Studio team will get back with you shortly. Thank you!
Will there be a TAD Studio in 2013/2014?
Yes! There will be one cohort this academic year for mid-level teaching artists. Please note, this year's TAD Studio application process is now closed.
Who were past participants of TAD?
Go to TAD Studio Alumni to meet our past three cohorts. Friend us on Facebook at Tad S. Tudio, and follow us on Twitter, where you can see photos, receive updates, and find information pertinent to teaching artists in the field.
How much does TAD Studio cost?
It's absolutely free to successful applicants! And if you think things couldn't get any better, participants who complete the training will receive an honorarium.
What is the class schedule? What is my time commitment?
TAD Studio is a 14-week program, meeting on Monday evenings from 6:30-9:30pm beginning February 3, 2014. In addition to evening sessions, participants will be required to complete two classroom observation sessions and two practical implementation sessions at partner sites. TAD Studio will end with two nights of presentations on Monday, May 5 and Tuesday, May 6, 2014. All events will take place on the Columbia College campus. Students are expected to attend all sessions and complete all observations and implementations in order to receive the program honorarium.
Is the TAD Studio only open to Columbia College Chicago faculty and staff?
No. The TAD Studio 2014 cohort is open to any local artist with 3+ years teaching experience in a school setting. Ideal applicants will have a demonstrated ability to teach in their discipline, and desire to broaden their arts integration knowledge and technique in the classroom.
The TAD Studio is not an Illinois State Board of Education certification program. It will not be credit-bearing toward getting a teacher’s certificate, or guarantee employment.
How do I apply?
