Teaching Artist Town Hall

Engaging People and Communities as Artists

WHEN: February 24th, 2011

WHERE: Film Row Cinema, 1104 South Wabash, 8th Floor

@ 5pm doors open. Refreshments and light dinner fare will be provided.

@ 6pm the meeting will begin in the auditorium.

Please join Teaching Artist Journal editors Nick Jaffe and Becca Barniskis for a lively, highly interactive discussion about what it means to engage with community in our practice as artists and teachers. As an audience member you will participate in conversations and there will be connecting via video link with colleagues near and far to examine our common interests and concerns.

Please note: This is NOT a symposium or a panel discussion—we look forward to you adding your voice to the discussion!

Our goals for this session:

  • You come away from this session with a sense of the teaching artist field as a community of practitioners and thinkers that you can join.
  • You will participate in a substantive conversation with colleagues among all locations (both nationally and internationally).
  • You will be introduced to the Teaching Artist Journal as a resource and catalyst for practice and dialog in your own community about issues relevant to your work.
