COLUMBIA COLLEGE, FACULTY ORGANIZATION (CCFO)
Report to the College Council
December 2nd, 2005

This last Tuesday, CCFO held a meeting that examined the issue of faculty governance past, present and future at our college. Yesterday, the CCFO President had the opportunity to meet with Dr. William Elliott and Dr. Oliver Evans who are consultants looking at issues of academic administration as directed by the Provost. There will be a CCFO/Provost's Office Holiday lunch next week Wednesday, December 7th . On December 8th , CCFO officers and select members of the All-College Workload Committee will likely have the opportunity to speak on the teaching load adjustment plan at a special meeting of the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees. We also have the understanding that the CCFO President will have the opportunity to speak to the full Board of Trustees at their meeting on December 15th .

CCFO officers will meet with the Provost in January and CCFO will hold its elections meeting probably in early February. We wish to state that we are also quite concerned with pension plan issues, health care benefits and the evaluation of the administration.
