COLUMBIA COLLEGE, FACULTY ORGANIZATION (CCFO)
Report to the College Council
December 1st, 2006
CCFO officers had a meeting with the President and Provost on November 7th that covered the copyright policy of the college, the TLA (and its implementation task force), salary compression and base salary, employee benefits and the results of the CCFO survey. On November 8th, CCFO held a well-attended [and spirited] meeting where the issues of merit raises, salary compression and a proposal for a large base salary raise for all full-time faculty was discussed.
November 28th saw a CCFO/Provost's Office lunch and a meeting of the Faculty Orientation Committee [an event will be held for first year faculty during the first week of the Spring semester]. On November 29th, the Faculty Liaison Committee to the Board of Trustees had a meeting with members of the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees where results of the CCFO survey, concerns about hiring of minority faculty and discussion of merit raises, salary compression and a proposed base salary raise was had.
The CCFO President will: have a meeting today with the SGA President to explore common issues and concerns; make a presentation to the Chair's Council next week Wednesday and also will soon distribute a report on CCFO activities during this Fall semester and goals for the upcoming Spring semester.
