Technology in The Classroom (5 Week Course)
The Technology in the Classroom Course is designed to introduce you to new tools that will aid in your teaching. This series will show you how to best present your text, movies, audio recordings, music, slides or regular photographs in a digital format. You will also learn about the MIMIO SmartBoard and the uses of automatic response systems. Instructors who want to update their teaching tools will most benefit from attending this series.
By signing up for the Technology in the Classroom Workshop Series you are signing up for all 5 3-hour long workshops. Only participants who attend all 5 workshops will earn the CIT Certificate. Part-time faculty who complete all 5 workshops will also receive a stipend in the amount of $200.00. Full-time staff who also teach part-time in Columbia do not qualify for a stipend. If you have received a stipend and certificate for this course previously, you are not eligible to receive a stipend and certificate for this course again.
In order to receive a certificate or stipend, participants will have to pass an exam proving their understanding of the material. The project-based, hands-on exam will be administered by the instructor during the last hour of the last day of the course.
