We know Columbia students have been struggling financially to stay in school. So, in 2009, college advisor, Wayne Tukes, inspired a few staff members to help create an exciting scholarship initiative. Do you know Richard or Mark from Building Services? They were so excited by Wayne’s idea they helped create a flyer to pass the word & pass the jar!

 

Now we have the very first Columbia Faculty & Staff Scholarship Initiative. It comes from staff, from faculty, from the heart!  Our pledge is that every dollar donated goes directly to Columbia students! Scholarship Columbia makes every penny count: faculty/staff donations are matched 1:1, 1:2 if you are an alumnus. Here’s how the match works:

$10 contributed by staff or faculty becomes $20
$10 contributed by faculty or staff and an alum becomes $30

Pledge $5 a paycheck for a year as staff or faculty becomes $240
Pledge $5 a paycheck for a year as faculty/staff and alum becomes $360

Pledge $10 a paycheck for 4 years as staff or faculty, a student receives $1920
Pledge $10 a paycheck for 4 years as faculty / staff & an alum, a student receives $2880
