Chicago International Film Festival 2010
In October 2010, Columbia was the presenting partner of the 46th Chicago International Film Festival, a two-week celebration of cinema that brought the best of emerging and world cinema to the city. Held at the Harris Theater in Millennium Park, the festival kicked off in style with its Opening Night celebration, a star-studded gala event in which many of Columbia's best and brightest mingled with festival A-listers. Columbia also had the honor of hosting an event for their own alumni at the Chicago International Film Festival. Columbia Night was a private reception and viewing of Columbia alumnus Naveen Chathappuram’s (‘00) film CA$H, which starred Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings) and Chris Hemsworth (Marvel’s upcoming THOR) and Columbia alumnus Michael David Lynch’s (’05) short film, Swerve.
