Media Production Center Gala
The Media Production Center Gala on Saturday, October 2, 2010 celebrated the huge strides that Columbia College Chicago has made in its 120-year history. The evening was especially dedicated to marking the college’s first new-construction building and celebrating Dr. Warrick L. Carter’s 10th year as president of the college. The Media Production Center was designed by Studio Gang Architects to be a state-of-the-art learning environment outfitted with two film production soundstages, a motion-capture studio, digital labs, animating suites, a fabrication shop, and classrooms. The building embodies the spirit of film and houses the arch from the former Famous Players-Lasky Corporation, the parent company of Paramount Pictures.
