Faculty Quick Guide
Faculty input is central to our programming strategies that help students transition from academia to a professional life in a creative field. Because of the breadth of media taught at Columbia we interact somewhat differently with faculty from each department. In some areas we offer assistance documenting, editing, and packaging student work samples. With other departments we provide a variety of programs that put students- and their work- in front of creative industry professionals to test the waters, practice presenting their work, and to begin networking. And in majors where portfolios are not a tradition, we help faculty explore the changing landscape of employer expectations regarding portfolio presentation. Mission Statement
With the final body of work in mind, we work with faculty and students at all levels, in every major/media, in the college. The quick guide below lists Portfolio Center programs and services according to class level. The orange links will provide greater detail. Contacts for each program are listed at the bottom of the page.
Build the Portfolio Center into your syllabus. Your students will love you for it.
