Section 7: Institutional Enrollments
This section allows an institution to determine whether consensus exists within and among the respondent groups about student enrollments over the last three years, and to offer projections about future enrollments and their potential impact on the institution.
What is our survey data telling us?
A strong consensus on the College's rapid enrollment growth is observed among faculty and staff. Furthermore, the respondents strongly agree that the College can continue the enrollment growth and can act now to avoid the possibility of declining enrollment in the near future. If the College experiences a decline in enrollment for a year, it is okay. This would be just short-term and would not be seen as a threat to our institutional viability.
The following comments from survey respondents illustrate the range of perspectives on the institutional issues discussed in this section:
We need to work on space shortage-classrooms, equipment, performance space, student lockers, storage space.
Columbia is outgrowing its current space. Students and staff are feeling the crush.
