Individual Lessons
Ages 4 and above
Individual Lessons enable students to learn technique and repertoire that are best suited to their particular needs, and are an integral part of a musician’s education.
Individual lessons follow an open enrollment policy, new enrollments in individual lessons are accepted at anytime throughout the year. To enroll in individual lessons, please speak with the Student Services Manager at (312) 369-3103, or email at juth@colum.edu. All new students are required to speak to the Student Services Manager before enrolling in individual lessons.
Our Student Services Manager will help you decide which instructor is right for you as well as assist in determining an appropriate lesson length, and will then schedule a trial lesson at a mutually agreed upon day and time. The trial lesson is a single piad lesson ($40 fee) that allows the student (and parent) to meet the teacher to determine if the instructor is the right fit for the student, as well as recieve important feedback and, if needed, level assessment from the instructor. Once the trial lesson is completed, you may enroll for the remaining weeks in the term, or request another trial lesson with a different instructor.

Shared Lessons
Are you and a friend interested in learning an instrument together? Sherwood is now offering shared lessons for 2 or 3 students at a time. Prices for shared lessons are the same as for private lessons, so shared lessons are an economical way to learn a new instrument in a fun, social environment. Pre-formed groups only please, Sherwood will not match up individual students to form shared lessons.
