Individual Lessons
Ages 6 and above
Individual Lessons enable students to learn technique and repertoire that is best suited to their particular needs, and are an integral part of a musician’s education.
Lessons are offered Monday through Saturday at times mutually agreed upon by the student and instructor. Sherwood’s Program Coordinators will help you decide on lesson length (30, 45, or 60-minute lessons) and will match the best teacher to your needs. We recommend that instruction in wind instruments begin at age 9 or 10, or at the individual teacher’s discretion. Students may begin to study voice at age 13 for girls and 14 for boys; we recommend that younger children who express an interest in singing enroll in either First Chorus or Children’s Chorus. Lessons are offered for instruments listed below.
