APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JUNE 1

For fifteen years, the Summer Chamber Music Workshop has been motivating talented young musicians who share a love for chamber music and ensemble performance! This fun and engaging workshop is open to students who play piano, violin, viola, cello, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, and guitar. Students will spend two weeks learning and performing a wide range of chamber music repertoire under the expert guidance of Sherwood Community Music School faculty and guest faculty, as well as attend valuable master classes and workshops. The focus is on enhancing ensemble playing skills and exposure to a rich variety of chamber music in a collaborative learning environment.  A final performance will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011.

Workshop will include:
* Coaching sessions with faculty
* Chamber music literature and music theory class
* Masterclasses with faculty
* Attendance at Grant Park Music Festival concerts in Millennium Park

Tuition & Registration

* An audition is required for placement.

9th Annual Summer Flute Institute

The Summer Flute Institute, now in its ninth year, is the place to be this summer for flute students of all ages! Founded by esteemed flute instructor, Susan Levitin, the Summer Flute Institute is an intensive program designed to provide flutists with the direction and experience they need to take their playing to the next level. The Flute Institute runs for two weeks, and students may choose to participate in either week, or for a discounted price, students may enroll in both weeks

Focus On Auditions: July 18 - July 22

Two minute slow and fast solos

Second Annual Summer String Camp
June 20 - 24, 2011
8:30am - 12:30pm
Ages 4 - 17

APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO MAY 15

Calling all string players! The Summer String Camp is a week-long intensive camp designed for violin, viola, and cello students of all levels who are interested in honing their craft. Throughout the week, students will participate in master classes, group lessons, theory classes and ensembles. Classes are focused on improving technique, ensemble playing, and musicianship skills. Students will be placed in groups with other students of similar age and ability, and a final performance will be held on Friday, June 24.
