Andrew Snow

Summer Chamber Music Institute Faculty, Cello

Andrew Snow is an active recitalist, chamber musician, orchestra musician, and teacher. Mr. Snow is a member of the Chicago Ensemble, Chicago Sinfonietta, Lake Forest Symphony and Chicago Philharmonic, and has performed with Grant Park Symphony, Ravinia Festival Orchestra, Joffery Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Milwaukee Symphony, Ars Viva, Chicago Symphonic Pops, Lyric Opera, Grand Teton Music Festival, Contemporary Chamber Players, Fulcrum Point and Chicago Chamber Orchestra in Mexico with his wife, pianist Beatriz Helguera-Snow. Mr. Snow was principal cellist with the Kenosha Symphony and cellist of Lyra Quartet, in residence at Carthage College, Wisconsin.

Mr. Snow holds a BA in cello performance from Northern Illinois University, studying with Marc Johnson of the Vermeer String Quartet, and an MA in cello performance from Southern Methodist University, with the late Lev Aronson. Mr. Snow attended the Summer Cleveland Institute and the Aspen Music Festival, where he studied with Alan Harris. He also studied with Chicago cellists Richard Hirschl and Marijane Carr. As an active clinician, Mr. Snow has been a faculty member at Trinity International University (Deerfield, IL) since 2006 and is a private teacher.
