Facility Rental

Sherwood's modern 20,000 square foot facility was built in 1999 and features five classrooms and 23 music studios, as well as a "jewel-box" recital hall. The recital hall seats a maximum of 140, with 2 levels of seating centered on our 450 square foot stage. The recital hall has such excellent acoustics that a single speaker on stage can be clearly heard throughout the hall without the need for a microphone. Two Steinway concert grand pianos are available, a 7-foot and a 9-foot grand, and a separate "green room" adjacent to the hall is also available for performer use. The Sherwood Conservatory recital hall is the perfect size for many events, offering an intimate setting while still providing a professional look and feel.

Practice Studios

Sherwood's five classrooms and 23 music studios are available for rental as well. Perhaps you're an out-of-town visitor looking for a quiet place to practice for a few hours on one of our 22 baby grand pianos. Or maybe you're an apartment-dwelling singer who can't practice at home without disturbing the neighbors. Maybe you have an ensemble looking for a place to rehearse. Whatever your particular situation, Sherwood offers the perfect practice space: quiet, centrally located, and affordable.

How to Rent Sherwood's Facilities

> A 50% deposit is required to secure the Recital Hall. The remaining 50% is due two weeks before the event date. A deposit is not required for practice studio rental.

> Organizations renting Sherwood’s Recital Hall are required to provide a Certificate of Insurance. Individuals renting the facilities for personal use are excluded from this requirement.

Rental Rates

Recital Hall Rental Rates
Standard Rate: $125.00 per hour
Includes use of green room, family lounge and 7-foot grand piano

Audition/Recording Rate: $80.00 per hour
Reduced rate limited to non-profit or individual use, includes use of green room and grand piano

Rehearsal Rate: $50.00 per hour
Reduced rate limited to non-profit or individual use, includes use of green room and grand piano

Set-Up and Tear-Down Rate: $50.00 per hour
Only applicable for time spent before and after event to accommodate set up and clean up time. A maximum of one hour total set-up and tear-down time is allowed at this reduced rate. Additional time will be billed at the standard rate.

Studio and Classroom Rental Rates:
Large Classroom (30-person capacity): $35.00 per hour
Practice Room (with grand piano): $15.00 per hour
Practice Room (no grand piano): $10.00 per hour

Equipment Availability

Sherwood's Recital Hall is equipped with the following equipment:

     -  8 channel sound reinforcement system
     -  CD/DVD/VHS player
     -  Apple iMac
     -  Digital projector
     -  Audio/video recording capability
     -  7 foot Steinway Grand Piano
     -  9 foot Kawai Grand Piano

Additional Fees

Extended Hours Fee: $83.00 per hour
This fee is required for any event occurring outside of normal school hours.

Staffing Fee: $37.00 per hour
This fee is assessed in the event that either the renting party or Sherwood deems it necessary to have a Sherwood staff member on site.  A staff member may be required for larger events to assist in facilities issues such as moving tables, chairs, pianos, adjusting the thermostat, etc.

Janitorial Service: $25.00 per hour
This fee may be assessed by Sherwood for any event that may require additional janitorial service.  This fee is charged at Sherwood's discretion for larger events, events featuring extensive receptions, and any other event that requires janitorial staffing.

Extra Piano Tuning: $100.00 per piano
Sherwood's pianos are tuned regularly, but if you require additional tuning, we can have the piano professionally tuned for you the day of your event.

Piano Usage Deposit: $100.00 (refundable)
This deposit covers any damage that may occur to the piano due to misuse. This fee is refundable assuming there has been no damage, and is charged at Sherwood's
discretion.
