ADULTS ONLY

Fall Session I
Unless otherwise indicated, all courses are nine weeks in duration.

SINGING WITH STYLE
From Cole Porter to Kurt Weill, Burt Bacharach to Stephen Sondheim--if these are some of your favorite American songwriters, then check out Singing with Style!  This is an introduction to cabaret singing that will include performance and listening to classical cabaret recordings.  Students will learn how to personalize their performances by telling a story, how to work with an accompanist, and how to engage an audience through the spoken word that is the hallmark of this unique genre of vocal performance.  The class will culminate with a final performance at Davenport's Piano Bar and Cabaret (or similar venue).  Prior vocal training is recommended and instructor approval is required to participate in this course.

Day Time Tuition
Monday 6:30-8:00 p.m. $195

ADULT CHAMBER ENSEMBLE

This is an excellent introduction to chamber music repertoire and rehearsal/performance techniques for students at intermediate through advanced levels.  Students with at least two years of individual study will learn to play within numerous instrumental combinations.  An audition will be held during the first week of class to determine placement in groups.  This is an 18-week class.

Day Time Tuition
Tuesday 6:00-8:00 p.m. $390

ADULT CELLO ENSEMBLE

Adult Cello Ensemble rehearses and performs repertoire from the Classical period through works for cello choir by contemporary composers.  Participants should have a basic level of proficiency in reading and playing; an audition is required to determine placement.  This is an ideal way for cellists to build ensemble-playing skills!  This is an 18-week class.

Day Time Tuition
Monday 7:30-8:30 p.m. $375
