Music study should be a doorway to further visits to ALL the arts.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?
The way students react to music and how they absorb it!

What is your earliest musical experience?
I was born into a family with two brothers in rural California and, being the new baby, my family took me to visit a nearby home. I was six weeks old and crying up a storm. Someone played their piano and the "new baby" stopped crying, so my mother bought a piano!

Please describe one of your favorite teachers or mentors.
Of course, my first teacher in rural California, Louise Gyber! She was like another mother. We played duets at every lesson - We were great on the The Ride of the Valkyries.

What is your favorite type of music?
There's great stuff in every period and an endless supply of great composers.
