How long have you been on Faculty at Sherwood Conservatory of Music?
Since April 1997.

Briefly describe your musical pursuits outside Sherwood.

Private studio teacher, freelance performer and chamber musician.

What do you want to impart to your students through your teaching?
I want to teach them that wonderful music means more than playing an instrument well and to feel the power of that music. Also, how to communicate the music to the audience.

Are there specific methods or techniques that you use in your teaching that may be important to share with prospective students?
Both Suzuki and traditional methods.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?
I am happy as a teacher when I see that the student enjoys playing the violin or viola and when that instrument takes a special place in his/her life.

What is your earliest musical experience?
I started playing the violin when I was 6-7, but before that, at the age of 5, I was exposed to dynamic music classes.

Please describe one of your mentors.
Linda Fiore, faculty at The Hartt School, University of Hartford - She is very passionate about teaching violin and she has great teaching methods.

What is your favorite type of music?

J.S. Bach, but I also like the Romantic period too.
