How long have you been on Faculty at Sherwood Conservatory of Music?
Since 1997.

Briefly describe your musical pursuits outside Sherwood.
Freelance orchestral, band and chamber music.

What do you want to impart to your students through your teaching?

Beyond learning to play the clarinet, I hope my students gain a sense of accomplishment, confidence, a deepened appreciation and joy of music, and a heightened curiosity to explore a wide variety of musical styles.

Are there specific methods or techniques that you use in your teaching that may be important to share with prospective students?

I tailor my approach to the needs and objectives of the individual student.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?
Hearing a student’s progress.

What is your best musical memory?

One of the many best musical memories is hearing Vladimir Horowitz live in recital, just after his return to public performance.

Please describe one of your favorite teachers.
Someone who is challenging, consistent, creative, experienced.

What is your favorite type of music?
No favorites, really. I love it ALL.
