- The Office of Student Financial Services believes that financing your education is a collaborative effort. Along with you active participation, SFS provides resources and guidance to help you successfully, and responsibly finance your education. We encourage you to actively utilize these resources throughout your college career to ensure successful management of your student account.

- Outlined below are directions for navigating through our customer service resources to ensure an effective service experience. Students and their support networks will find that when the 1, 2, 3 process is followed, their questions are answered efficiently. It’s as easy as 1, 2, and 3!
- 1. Self-Service Resources
- -Virtual Advisor & the SFS Website
- Begin your service experience by utilizing the Virtual Advisor and the SFS website. Utilize these resources to research your financial options, find answers to general questions, and download financial forms any time, day or night!
- -Personal Student Account Management Resources
- These online resources should be used in conjunction with Virtual Advisor and the SFS Website. These resources are available to students once they acquire a student ID number and password that are found through the student OASIS portal. They allow access to personal student account management.
- 2. Outreach Services
- -Student LOOPmail
- LOOPmail is your Columbia College Chicago student email. This is available to you once you have confirmed your admission status. Student LOOPmail is the primary hub for direst SFS-student communication. You will be required to review your LOOPmail on a weekly basis for time sensitive SFS notifications. This will allow you to successfully maintain your student account.
- -SFS Workshops and Presentations
- SFS Workshops, presentations and SFS Chat sessions occur regularly throughout the year and supplement the service experience. Visit the SFS Spotlight for dates and times.
- 3. Consultation Resources
- -The SFS Toll-Free Consultation Line
- Most questions can be answered by utilizing the Self Service Resources and Outreach Services previously described. If questions remain unanswered after utilizing these resources, contact the SFS Toll-Free Consultation Line at 1.866.705.0200. The SFS Toll-Free Consultation Line is available Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Phone Consultants are available to guide you on account specific questions. A Phone Consultant will assess your question and refer it to a Counselor if it requires a Specialized Consultation.
- -Specialized Consultations
- SFS understands that you may have financial circumstances that require specialized consultation. Specialized Consultations may be scheduled after exhausting the resources previously described. Office and phone appointments are available Monday through Thursday 9:00 A.M. to 4:40 P.M. and Friday 10:30 A.M. to 4:40 P.M.
- If you’re an enrolled student, schedule appointments through the online scheduling system located in your OASIS portal. If you are a prospective student or do not yet have a student ID number, please login here. After your appointment is created, both you and the counselor will receive a confirmation email. Wait times for Unscheduled Specialized Consultations may range between 20-45 minutes and are conduced with the next available counselor on duty.
