The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago Academic Scholarship Program
- Eligibility:
- Academic requirement include:
- Graduate –level enrollment in a helping profession program, such as medicine, human service, the rabbinate, or Jewish communal service
- Or vocational or undergraduate training in helping sectors requiring no post- graduate education for employment, such as education or nursing
- Or mathematics and engineering, or other sciences
- Or communications at the University of Illinois, Urban-Champaign
- Or law, in the helping sector
- Jewish Vocational Service administers the scholarship program and personally interviews all applicants before April 20, 2009 at one of its many offices throughout the Chicago Metropolitan area.

The Abbott and Fenner Scholarship

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, Inc.
- One year scholarship ranging from $1,000-$10,000 awarded to undergraduate students at accredited educational institutions
- Applicants must be son/daughter of one of the following:
- Active duty or reserve U.S. Marine
- U.S. Marine who has received an Honorable Discharge, Medical Discharge, or was killed while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps
- Active duty or reserve U.S. Navy Corpsman who is serving, or has served, with the U.S. Marine Corps
- U.S. Navy Corpsman who has served with the U.S. Marine Corps and has received and Honorable Discharge, Medical Discharge, or was killed while serving in the U.S. Navy

Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society Scholarships
- Students enrolling in or continuing enrollment in a graduate level educational program
- Eligibility is based on the following criteria:
- The applicant must be a Jewish immigrant to the United States who:
- immigrated with his or her family with the assistance of HIAS Chicago and/or
- applied for permanent residency or citizenship with the assistance of HIAS Chicago between January 1, 1998 to the present and
- must have lived in the Unite States for the minimum periods of 1-2 years
- must demonstrate academic excellence, community involvement, financial need, and a well thought out educational plan

The Saints, Volunteers for the Performing Arts

IRTA Foundation Scholarship for 2008
- The Illinois Retired Teachers’ Association Foundation is proud to offer six $1500 scholarships, one in each of the six IRTA areas, to residents of Illinois. Anyone who is or will be a junior or senior in college, is a child, grandchild or great-grandchild of an IRTA member, and has been accepted into a Teacher Certification Program may apply. Attendance at an Illinois college or university is not a requirement, but the applicant must be a resident of Illinois.

The John Gyles Education Awards
- An award of up to $3000 made possible by a benevolent endeavor established in 1990. The award is available to students in the United States and Canada, male and female in all areas of post-secondary study.

Women’s Opportunity Award
- A cash award given to women who are seeking to improve their economic status by gaining additional skills, training or education. Applicants must be mature women who are financially responsible for their families and who need to further their education, skills and/or training in order to improve their employment status.

First in My Family Scholarship
- The First in My Family Scholarship Program, developed in partnership with the Hispanic College Fund, offers scholarships to Hispanic-American students who are the first in their family to attend college, and have financial need.

Unmet Need Scholarship
- Open to families with a combined income of $30,000 or less, this program supplements financial aid packages that fall more than $1,000 short of students’ financial needs.
- The Unmet Need Scholarship Program is open to all U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are accepted or enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at approved, accredited institutions.
- Students must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) to be eligible to apply. Recipients are selected based on financial need Scholarships range from $1,000 to $3,800.

American Dream Scholarship
- In partnership with the United Negro College Fund, the American Dream Scholarship Program is open to African Americans with financial need.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, with a minimum 2.5 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), who meet Pell Grant eligibility criteria, and are enrolled full-time at approved, accredited, undergraduate institutions. Scholarships range from $500 to $5000.

Writers of Passage Scholarship
- In partnership with the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education, this program is an essay competition that awards four winning students from a Historically Black College or University, or a predominantly black college, with a $5,000 college scholarship.

The Sallie Mae 911 Education Fund
- The Sallie Mae 911 Education Fund was created in response to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The scholarship program is open to children of those who were killed or permanently disabled as a result of the terrorist attacks, and who are enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at approved, accredited institutions.
- Scholarships awards of up to $2,500 per applicant, per school year, are available and may be renewed on an annual basis, subject to satisfactory academic progress.

David A. Debolt Teacher Shortage Scholarship Program
- A graduate student scholarship for teaching areas identified by the State of Illinois as teacher shortage areas. The scholarship, administered by ISAC, requires that a recipient teach within an approved area or the scholarship must be repaid as a loan. A graduate student must have a complete current academic year financial aid file, file an application with ISAC prior to the program deadline, and be certified eligible by the Columbia College Office of Student Financial Services. Applications are available through Sheila Brady, Educational Studies Department Ext. 7606, the application must be filed with ISAC prior to the published ISAC deadline. This award is subject to state funding limitations.
Hispanic Scholarship Fund
- The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is proud to announce our new scholarship program for the 2007-2008 academic year. Scholarships range from $1,000 - $5,000.

National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS)
- The Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) is offering four scholarships of $4,000. The Ephraim Family scholarship, The Sharon A. Palermo Memorial scholarship, The Tom Skilling scholarship, and the NATAS Board of Governors scholarship.
