The Elma Stuckey Scholarships in Creative Non-Fiction and Poetry Writing, Department of English

for continuing undergraduate and graduate students

The Elma Stuckey Scholarships were established to recognize outstanding students in the Creative Non-Fiction and Poetry programs in the Department of English, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The Elma Stuckey Scholarships seek to enhance the cultural richness and breadth of Columbia College Chicago’s student body. Students who are progressing well in creative non-fiction or poetry writing majors despite having encountered significant social and economic obstacles, or who have demonstrated outstanding creative and leadership abilities, are especially encouraged to apply. Creative ability, it should be noted, can take conventional or unconventional forms, and evidence of leadership can be drawn from one’s continuing relationship to the community in which one grew up or from leadership at Columbia College Chicago. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate and graduate students.
