Hammerman Scholarship
for continuing undergraduate students
Hammerman Scholarship was established to assist with defraying the costs of tuition and fees for outstanding Audio Arts + Acoustics students.
The Hammerman Scholarship is open to:
- Junior-level Audio Arts + Acoustics students
- Students who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
- International students may be considered
Award based on:
- Academic achievement, initiative, and creative thinking
Award amount:
- $1,500 to $2,500 (awarded Fall 2013 semester)
Notification of the award:
- Recipients will be notified by the scholarship committee by the first week in March. We regret that we are unable to give information regarding the committee's decisions over the telephone or by email.
No separate application is required:
- Students are nominated by Audio Arts + Acoustics full-time faculty
The Hammerman Scholarship was established in 1998 thanks to a generous gift by Sol and Celia Hammerman, brought to the then "Radio and Sound" department by Ms. Enid Long, Columbia College Trustee and the donors' daughter.
- Award range is $1500 to $2500
- Scholarship is awarded in the Fall semester only and is not renewable
- Award is applied toward tuition and fee costs during the designated semester
- Recipient must maintain full-time enrollment during the Spring semester in which the award is posted
- Scholarship may not be used toward independent study abroad programs
- The rules and regulations governing other sources of financial aid (federal, state, institutional and other grants, gifts, or loans) will apply
