Shades of Darkness is a collection of photographs, collages and objects from artists who are connected by the vaguely bleak. The pieces in this exhibition appear to be dark toned yet behind this tint of emotion, facets of complexity are buried. The work in this show prompts the viewer to step into the shade and experience the socio-political, familial, spiritual, and psychological interior of the darkness in our world.

This exhibition is produced by Columbia College’s Photography department, and features the work of recent graduates and renowned alumni.

Shades of Darkness is curated by Photography Alum Matthew Avignone
