Alpha Kappa Alpha Scholarships

Ayn Rand “Atlas Shrugged” Essay Scholarship
Award: Ranges from $50 to $10,000

Eligibility: High school seniors and currently enrolled college students
This scholarship contest is based on reading the novel “Atlas Shrugged” and responding to questions posted on the scholarship contest website. Visit the website for specific detailed instructions on how to enter. Winners may submit essays again as long as they did not win first place the previous year.
Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation
Award: 50 four-year $20,000 scholarships and 200 four-year $10,000 scholarships
Deadline: Applications are accepted between August 1st – October 31st.
Eligibility: High school seniors with a minimum gpa of 3.0 (at the end of their Junior year) who are US Citizens, US Nationals, US Permanent residence, Temporary citizens, and refugees.
The scholarship rewards leadership and excellence as exemplified through academic achievement and extracurricular activities, including commitment to community service. Note that the application is electronic and is available August 1st.
Columbia College Chicago
Diversity Award
Award: $5,000 ($2,500 in the fall; $2,500 in the spring)
Deadline: March 14, 2008
Eligibility: Must be enrolled full-time at the time of
application. Must have completed 12 semester hours of coursework for
undergraduates, and 9 semester hours of coursework for graduate students while
at Columbia College Chicago. Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or
above. Must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

students.
Gates Millennium Scholars Program

The Gates Millennium Scholars Program administers scholarships for outstanding low-income African-American, Native American, Hispanic American, and Asian American students to attend the undergraduate and graduate institutions of their choice. The program is administered through several different scholarship funds in each of those communities.
Jackie Robinson Scholarship Program

The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides scholarships of up to $7,200 annually to underserved high school students showing leadership potential and demonstrating financial need to attend an accredited 4-year college or university of their choice. Visit website for more details.

National Women’s Studies Association

The National Women's Studies Association leads the field of women’s studies in educational and social transformation. Established in 1977, NWSA is a professional organization dedicated to leading the field of women's studies, as well as its teaching, learning, research, and service wherever they be found. A variety of scholarships are available for both undergrads and graduate students: Jewish Caucus Scholarship, Lesbian Caucus Scholarship, Women of Color Scholarship, and the Graduate Scholarship Award. Deadline for all scholarships is March 1.
Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) - Multicultural Affairs Scholarship Program

Eligibility: Full time undergrad; junior status; public relations and/or communications-related.
This scholarship program was established in 1989 by PRSA's Multicultural Affairs Committee, to assist and recognize young men and women for outstanding academic achievement and commitment to the practice of public relations. Today, PRSA's National Multicultural Communications Section is the program sponsor and encourages contributions from PRSA members, corporations, and public relations agencies for an endowment. The scholarship program is administered by the PRSA Foundation.

Worldstudio Foundation Scholarship

Eligibility: Minority and international undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree in the fine arts or commercial arts, design, or architecture. Must have a minimum of 2.0 GPA.
Worldstudio Foundation in conjunction with AIGA, the professional association for design, provide scholarships to minority and economically disadvantaged students who are studying the design/arts disciplines in colleges and universities in the United States.
