Amigas Latinas
Award: $500-2000
Deadline: March 31, 2008
Eligibility: Female, lesbian, bisexual, and questioning women.

Current high school seniors, who are of Latina heritage, identify as lesbian, bisexual, transgender or queer and who are actively promoting understanding and acceptance of LGBTQ people in their school and/or community can apply for a scholarship for college expenses to be awarded this Spring.


Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, Inc. (CHCI)
Award:

•    $5,000 to attend a graduate-level academic institution; or
•    $2,500 to attend a four-year academic institution

First in My Family Scholarship Program
Award: $500 - $5,000

Eligibility: Must be a US citizen or permanent resident enrolled as a full time undergraduate student; must have minimum GPA of 3.0

The First in My Family Scholarship Program, developed in partnership with the Hispanic College Fund, offers scholarships to Hispanic-American students who are the first in their family to attend college and have financial need.  Visit the website for more information.


Guadalupe A. Reyes Scholarship Program

Eligibility: Latino heritage for S/West Side of Chicago; volunteer PNCC/BEAG; member of  Pilsen   Neighbors Community Council

The Pilsen Neighbors Community Council (PNCC) is a grass-roots, leadership-driven, empowerment organization whose mission is to ensure that residents of Pilsen have a voice in the decisions that affect their community.


Hispanic College Fund

The Hispanic College Fund administers the HCF Scholarship Program and several other scholarship programs such as the Sallie Mae?First in My Family Fund, the Ford Mi Fuerza Program, and many others. Hispanic Scholarship Fund

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund administers the Gates Millennium Scholars Program and various other scholarship opportunities. A couple of their scholarships include the College Scholarship Program; HSF/Camino al Exito Scholarship Program for students residing in Chicago; and the HSF/McNamara Family Creative Arts Grant Project for students studying arts and media.


La Unidad Latina Foundation
Award: $250-$1000

Eligibility: GPA between 2.80 and 3.60; completed at least one full-time year of study at an accredited college or university.

La Unidad Latina offers scholarships for students in any field. Student must meet the academic guidelines of the foundation. Visit website for more details. It is both for undergraduate and graduate students.


LINC TELACU

Eligibility: Minimum GPA of 2.5, Be a permanent resident of the Greater Chicagoland area.

Each year, the LINC TELACU Education Foundation awards hundreds of scholarships to students in California, Texas, Illinois and New York. Telacu administers two funding programs: the LINC TELACU Scholarship and the David C. Lizarraga Fellowship.


National Association of Hispanic Journalists

The NAHJ administers several scholarships from the NAHJ/Ruben Salazar Scholarship Fund to the NAHJ Geraldo Rivera Scholarships. United Hispanic Leadership Institute Dr. Juan Andrade Scholarship For Young Hispanic Leaders

Eligibility: Accepted or attending a four-year institution.

The United Hispanic Leadership Institute awards the Dr. Juan Andrade Scholarship to promising Hispanic Leaders. Awardees also receive a scholarship to attend the annual conference in Chicago.
