About SAA

The SAA is a student organization sponsored by the Office of Student Organizations and Leadership and Alumni Relations Office and was created in May 2006.

2006-2007 was SAA's first year in action and it managed to make a name for itself by selling Finals Week Exam Survival Kits, volunteering at college events including the Up Close series, and creating a spirit-filled week-long celebration called Madness!  Additionally, SAA began a campus-wide awareness campaign of the college's founder by unveiling a portrait of Miss Mary A. Blood, whom founded the college in 1890 as a women's oratroy college.

The Student Alumni Association is dedicated to creating pride, unity, and involvement in past, current, and future Alumni.  By reaching out to current and past students, the SAA gives its members a chance to meet and NETWORK with tons of different people.  Not to mention, it reaches out to the 80,000 plus alumni all over the nation.

The Student Alumni Association consists of five executive board members and has an open-membership policy.  Anyone who wants to become a member just has to come to a meeting.  All members are required to be current students enrolled in at least nine semester credit hours at Columbia, have a current G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher, and abide by the Columbia College Code of Conduct.
